CBS boldy takes Star Trek to third season

Star Trek: Discovery is available on CBS All Access in the US

CBS in the US has ordered a third season of its Star Trek prequel for its VoD service All Access.

Star Trek: Discovery was extended into a second run in 2017 and follows the crew of a spaceship on missions to discover new worlds and life forms.

The sci-fi drama is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout, Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment.

Michelle Paradise will join Alex Kurtzman as co-showrunner, with the latter also overseeing the expansion of the Star Trek universe for CBS Studios.

The show’s first season and the first six episodes of the show’s second season are currently available to stream on CBS All Access in the US. All new episodes will become available in the US via the on-demand service on a weekly basis.

Netflix offers the show in 188 countries while in Canada it is available on Bell Media’s Space channel and OTT service Crave.
