CBS alum Vuong resurfaces at NBC

The former senior VP of alternative broadcasting at CBS, Sharon Vuong, has resurfaced at rival US broadcast network NBC.

Vuong left CBS a month ago and has now been appointed senior VP of programming and development at NBC, according to The Wall Street Journal, which reported the news over the weekend.

Reporting to Jenny Groom, executive VP of alternative programming and development, she will lead development and strategy across the channel’s alternative programming.

Vuong became the unscripted boss at CBS in 2017, having joined the Eye network as a director of alternative in 2011 before rising to become VP of alternative series development.

The exec, who initially said she was leaving to spend more time with her family, had overseen a slate of unscripted shows at CBS that included gameshows and reality series such as Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Survivor and Love Island.
