CBS All Access enters The Twilight Zone

The original Twilight Zone ran for five years from the late 1950s

US broadcaster CBS has ordered a reboot of iconic anthology series The Twilight Zone for its SVoD and live-streaming service CBS All Access.

Adding to the platform’s original programming slate, the show will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films.

Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez will serve as executive producers and collaborate on the premiere episode. Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon will also serve as executive producers.

The original Twilight Zone, hosted by writer Rod Serling, took viewers to another dimension with a mix of horror, science-fiction, drama, comedy and superstition. It originally ran for five years on CBS from 1959.

The show joins a growing slate of originals on CBS All Access, which includes its first comedy series No Activity, currently airing; The Good Fight, returning for a second season in early 2018; and Star Trek: Discovery, which is also set for a second run.
