CBS All Access adds kids’ shows

CBS All Access will be able to offer new seasons of Danger Mouse

CBS All Access, the US broadcast network’s streaming service, has launched its children’s slate, with additional Nickelodeon shows coming to the platform in the new year.

Subscribers to the CBS service will now have access to new seasons of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Danger Mouse, as well as library content such as Bob the Builder, Inspector Gadget, Madeline, Heathcliff, The Adventures of Paddington Bear and the original Danger Mouse series.

The service has also acquired a number of Nickelodeon titles, which will be added to the platform in January.

CBS All Access first announced plans to launch children’s programming in August, teaming up with WildBrain (fka DHX Media) and Boat Rocker Studios to license the service’s first two original children’s series, WildBrain’s Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Boat Rocker’s new Danger Mouse.

Children’s programming on All Access will be available advertisement-free and accessible via CBS.com and the CBS app.

Marc DeBevoise, president of CBS Interactive, said: “Bringing children’s programming to CBS All Access is a significant step towards providing even more value for our subscribers, and now for their children as well. We’re bringing to market a fantastic roster of exclusive originals along with a library of marquee series for families, and we look forward to continuing to expand our children’s programming offering, especially with the future addition of incredible programming from Nickelodeon.”

This follows the news All Access appointed a new director of original content and promoted two execs earlier this month.
