CBC’s Tsang on board at Pier 21

Canadian scripted production company Pier 21 has bolstered its development division by appointing former CBC exec Karen Tsang and promoting VP Bill Lundy.

The indie, which is behind Comedy Network series The Beaverton, has appointed Tsang to the role of VP of development and promoted Lundy to senior VP of development.

Reporting to Pier 21 Films’ chief operating officer Nicole Butler, both Lundy and Tsang will collaborate on the company’s slate of development projects as well as expand the company’s reach to develop new IP while continuing to grow relationships with networks in Canada and internationally.

Before joining Pier 21 Films, Tsang spent eight years working in scripted content at CBC. In her most recent role as executive in charge of comedy production, Tsang oversaw the creative development and production of five seasons of Baroness von Sketch Show. Her slate also included TallBoyz, Mr D and This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Lundy joined Pier 21 Films in 2018 as VP of development. Previously, he worked at Bell Media, developing and producing comedic series for the broadcaster including The Beaverton, Letterkenny and Just For Laughs: All Access.

The announcements were made by CEO Laszlo Barna.
