The series will return to the channel in early 2016, with Leopard Drama, the London-based firm owned by UK indie group Argonon, again handling production of the 30-minute show.

Eve launched on CBBC in January and follows a sentient female robot living with a family in suburbia as she attempts to make sense of human teenage life.

It is written and co-created by Emma Reeves (Tracy Beaker Returns), along with Blacklisted Films creative director David Chikwe, and is distributed by Argonon International.

The new season, set to begin shooting in Scotland this summer, will be accompanied by a Christmas special, due to broadcast at the end of this year.
