CBBC picks Pets Factor

CBBC in the UK has ordered an observational documentary series set in local veterinary practices from factual prodco True North.

The Pets Factor (20×20′) will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at various vet practices in the UK, taking in everything from a constipated snake to a balding chicken and a dog that’s swallowed a sock, according to the producers.

The series will be presented by Stacey Dooley (Stacey Dooley Investigates) and will feature animated backstories to bring the pets’ personalities to life.

It is produced by Sima Ray and executive produced by Jess Fowle for True North and Hugh Lawton for CBBC. It was commissioned by Cheryl Taylor, controller of CBBC.

In related news, More 4 in the UK has ordered a 6×60′ season of True North’s Walks With My Dog, which sees celebrities visit local beauty spots with their dogs. The series was commissioned by Alex Menzies, deputy head of features at Channel 4.
