CBBC, Gulli order animated sitcom

Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese

Children’s networks CBBC in the UK and Gulli in France are teaming for their first animated coproduction together alongside Cloudco Entertainment, Watch Next Media and Kavaleer Productions.

Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese has also been pre-bought by RTÉ in Ireland, with additional funding secured from the Irish Film Board.

The show is aimed at six- to 12-year-olds and follows a family made up of a boy, a dog, a mouse, a girl, a cat and an anthropomorphic piece of cheese.

It will be produced by Watchnext Media in France and Kavaleer in Ireland, while Cloudco, formerly known as American Greetings Entertainment, will distribute.

Set to debut in 2019, the comedy series is described by the producers as the blended family of Brady Bunch meets the lovable disfunction of Modern Family.

The series will be executive produced by Harry Chaskin, Sean Gorman, Karen Vermeulen and Ryan Wiesbrock at Cloudco Entertainment; Philippe Alessandri of Watch Next Media; and Gary Timpson and Andrew Kavanagh of Kavaleer Productions. It will be directed by Jeremy Guiter, with Jo Allen serving as BBC executive on the show.

Overseeing the writing team is story editor, Tom Krajewski, who was most recently story editor on Cloudco series Buddy Thunderstruck and whose recent credits include Be Cool, Scooby Do! and New Looney Tunes.
