Cash Cab flagged in Philippines

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks in Asia has commissioned a local version of All3Media’s Cash Cab format for AXN in the Philippines.

The local version enters production this week and is set to premiere on the SPT-owned channel in the Philippines in December.

The 13-episode order comes after producer ActiveTV Asia secured remake rights in the territory last month.

The gameshow, where a taxi driver quizzes unsuspecting passengers and offers them the chance to win cash prizes, was previously produced by ActiveTV as Cash Cab Asia for Sony’s regional AXN channel.

SPT Networks Asia is already home to local versions of formats such as The Amazing Race, The Apprentice and Got Talent.
