Cartoon Pizza and Sesame Workshop team up

Creator of the children's TV favourite Sesame Street, Sesame Workshop is joining forces with Cartoon Pizza veterans Jim Jinkins and David Campbell to develop a minimum of six new properties for kids.

Sesame Workshop, which has recently created Dragon Tales and Sawga the Chinese Siamese Cat, will house the two creators of some of television's top children's series in their New York offices, under the two-year non-exclusive deal.

The new partnership will see Sesame Workshop and Cartoon Pizza partnering to co-produce both animation and live-action properties across all media, developing new ideas as well as drawing on current projects on their respective slates. Sesame Workshop will handle international distribution on all resulting titles.

{We were looking to partner with an organisation that would complement our strengths and, more importantly, allow us to retain creative freedom,{ said Jinkins.

Previously, Cartoon Pizza has created Doug and PB&J Otter, and exec produced hits like 101 Dalmatians for Disney, Allegra's Window for Nick Jr, and The Busy World of Richard Scarry for Random House.
