Canal+ picks up Gomorrah

French broadcaster Canal+ has picked up Sky Italia crime drama Gomorrah for broadcast in 2015.

Gomorrah, based on the the bestselling book by Italian writer Roberto Saviano, tells the inside story of the Camorra, the fierce Neapolitan crime organisation.

The 12×52’ series is a coproduction between Sky Cinema, Cattleya, Fandango, La 7 and Beta Film.

Beta has so far sold the series to Sky Germany, HBO Nordic in Scandinavia and HBO Latin America. Arrow Film has acquired the rights for UK and Lumiere for the Netherlands.

Stefano Sollima, helmer of fellow Sky Italia series Romanzo Criminale, serves as artistic director.
