Canal Once, Comarex sign pact

MIPCOM: Mexican distributor Comarex has signed a deal with the country’s educational network Canal Once to represent some of its drama and documentary series internationally.

The sales house will manage the worldwide distribution rights for Canal Once dramas such as Crónica de Castas, Paramédicos, Estado de Gracia, Pacientes, XY and Soy tu Fan.

Comarex will also represent documentaries including Antropológicas and Historias de Vida or México en la Edad de Hielo, among others.

Canal Once began broadcasting in 1959, making it the oldest public service television station in Latin America.

“This alliance represents an important opportunity for Canal Once to enter the international market with high quality content hand in hand with an experienced distributor,” said Enriqueta Cabrera, general director of Canal Once, at a press conference this afternoon.
