Canal+, Antena 3 go up Schitt’s Creek

Schitt’s Creek stars father and son duo Eugene and Dan Levy

French pay TV broadcaster Canal+ and Spanish network Antena 3 have become the latest international broadcasters to have picked up Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek.

The show aired for six seasons on Canadian pubcaster CBC and US network Pop TV and is now attracting buyers around the world after winning nine awards at the most recent Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

E4 in the UK, NOS in Portugal, Cosmote in Greece, VRT in Belgium and Hot in Israel have also previously acquired the series from distributor ITV Studios.

The comedy centres on the riches-to-rags drama of the Rose family. Suddenly finding themselves broke, the formerly filthy-rich Roses are forced to move to Schitt’s Creek, a small town they once bought as a joke.

Schitt’s Creek is produced by Not A Real Company Productions.
