The Murders (8×60’) is being produced by Muse Entertainment in association with the Rogers Media-backed network and started shooting in Vancouver earlier this month.

Lucas will star as a rookie detective in the show, which will combine an episodic case-of-the-week with serialised character elements. The actor is best known for playing Tabitha Galavan/Tigress in Fox’s Gotham and also appeared in 2008 monster movie Cloverfield.

Damon Vignale has created the show and is attached as showunner and exec producer, with About Premium Content distributing globally.

Nataline Rodrigues, director of original programming at Rogers, said The Murders was “a great example of our continued commitment to invest in premium original Canadian content.”

She added: “We’ve seen that our CityTV audiences love our gritty and unique take on the quintessential character rich crime drama, and we’re excited to introduce this new series in 2019.”
