Campfire, Kew explore digital simulation

Film and TV prodco Campfire and Kew Media Distribution, part of Kew Media Group, have again teamed up for a documentary about people who suspect they are living in a digital simulation.

Glitch in the Matrix (working title) comes from Rodney Ascher (Room 237, The Nightmare) and Ross Dinerstein (Stephen King’s 1922, The Pact, Jiro Dreams of Sushi) of LA-based Campfire.

The doc will hear from individuals whose lives have been significantly affected by their belief in one or multiple alternate realities.

It is influenced by the work of author Phillip K Dick, who originally offered up the idea of a computer-programmed reality which inspired films such as the Matrix franchise, Total Recall and Minority Report.

Campfire and Kew Media Distribution previously worked together on the documentary The Nightmare. As they did with The Nightmare, the filmmakers are using social media in their search for individuals to feature in the film.

Dinerstein will produce with Rebecca Evans and Ross Girard of Campfire executive producing. Tim Kirk will co-executive produce and Colin Frederick of Campfire will coproduce alongside Tyler Glodt.

Kew Media Distribution is handling worldwide sales. Ascher is represented by Lee Stobby Entertainment, CAA and attorney Stephen Clark of Lichter Grossman.

Campfire was one of numerous companies Kew Media Group acquired or took a controlling interest in last year. However, it is now 100% owned by Dinerstein.
