Cake alum invited to Serious Lunch

UK-based producer and distributor Serious Lunch has appointed a former Saban Brands and Cake exec to the newly created role of director of global sales.

Leila Ouledcheikh has taken the job at Genevieve Dexter’s London-based company, which specialises in projects for children and family audiences.

Ouledcheikh will report to Dexter, with whom she previously worked at Cake.

She will be responsible for sales of Serious Lunch’s catalogue of programming, which includes Operation Ouch and Ronia the Robber’s Daughter.

In addition, Ouledcheikh will work with Dexter to raise finance for projects from Serious Lunch’s sister company Eye Present, such as Flix, Best & Bester and season three of Messy Goes to Okido.

Ouledcheikh began her career at Hit Entertainment and subsequently held senior roles at Entertainment Rights and Cake.

Most recently, Ouledcheikh served as senior VP, EMEA, distribution and consumer products and Saban Brands, where she oversaw the UK office’s operations and the growth of Power Rangers.
