C5 transfers Cops from BBC

Viacom-owned Channel 5 in the UK has ordered a new season of a real-life police show that previously aired on BBC1.

C5 has commissioned Mentorn Scotland to produce a new run of Traffic Cops, which will continue to follow the West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire police across the region.

The show, which has sold to BBC Brit in Africa and BBC Knowledge in Australia and New Zealand, first aired on BBC1 in 2003.

The pubcaster aired an 11th season earlier this year, with the C5 version slated to debut later this year and include new filming methods. It was ordered by C5 commissioner Guy Davies.
