ViacomCBS-owned UK terrestrial Channel 5 has commissioned a Second World War feature documentary and series in time for Remembrance Day.

Factual-focused indie October Films is producing How Britain Won World War Two (1×165’), in which Michael Buerk and Arthur Williams reveal the hidden stories and events that changed the course of the conflict.

The same company is working on The Dambusters Story: A Battle Against Time (3×60’), which sees historian Dan Snow relive the nail-biting countdown to the most daring and ingenious bombing raids in history.

How Britain Won World War Two is exec produced by Julia Harrington and Melanie Darlaston. The producer is Bob Marsden and it was commissioned by Daniel Pearl.

The Dambusters Story: A Battle Against Time is exec produced by Neil Breakwell and produced by Jamie Simpson. Lucy Willis was the commissioner.
