C5 stages animal fundraiser

The UK’s Channel 5 has commissioned a three-hour TV event that will raise funds for the country’s animal charities.

Help the Animals at Christmas will be produced by Yorkshire-based indie Daisybeck Studios, which is behind the Viacom-owned terrestrial channel’s hit factual series The Yorkshire Vet.

Help the Animals at Christmas will be broadcast in December and will feature stars of key Channel 5 programmes and celebrity ambassadors for five animal charities.

The RSPCA, Scottish SPCA, Blue Cross, The Donkey Sanctuary and Wildlife Aid Foundation are working with Daisybeck to produce films about their work in an effort to raise awareness and funds to help them continue their work.

The live studio show will be staged at Media City UK and will feature star guests, studio performances and special editions of Channel 5 programmes.
