C5 revisits Icelandic volcano

Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned a one-off documentary about the Icelandic volcano that brought chaos to Europe when it erupted in 2010.

Timebomb Iceland (1×60’) is being produced by Endemol-owned Darlow Smithson Production and will air on C5 in April.

The doc will recall the impact of the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull three years ago and look at whether three other larger volcanoes in the region could cause even more problems in the future.

Simon Raikes, commissioning editor for factual at C5, greenlit the programme which is being executive produced by Alex Sutherland at Darlow Smithson.

Eyjafjallajökull erupted towards the end of MipTV 2010, leaving many attendees stranded.
