C5 orders restaurant show

Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned ITV-owned prodco Twofour to make a new show that helps people realise their dreams of owning a successful restaurant.

Restaurant Rescue (4×60’, working title) is fronted by The Hotel Inspector’s Alex Polizzi and her brother-in-law, restaurateur Oliver Peyton.

Greg Barnett is the commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 5 and Dan Adamson, Twofour’s director of programmes, is attached as executive producer.

The programme will see Polizzi and Peyton helping people whose attempts to run their own restaurant have spiralled out of control, with the pair attempting to transform four struggling eateries into successful and profitable ventures.

C5 recently commissioned a second season of The Wine Show, which sees a team of experts telling the stories behind the best wines of the world.
