C5 explores UK housing crisis

Channel 5 in the UK has partnered with a housing charity and ITN Productions to produce a documentary about the country’s slums.

Slum Britain: 50 Years On (1×90′, working title) will portray UK charity Shelter’s fight to end homelessness and bad housing over the past 50 years.

The doc will be produced by double Bafta winner and International Emmy award-winning filmmaker, Marcel Mettelsiefen and producer/editor Stephen Ellis, who scooped a Bafta for their film Children on the Frontline last year.

It will take both a retrospective look at people who lived in the slums of the 1960s as well as those living through the housing crisis of today.
