C5 books into BBC Studios’ Hotel Chocolat

C5’s forthcoming doc Chocolate Dreams: Inside Hotel Chocolat

BBC Studios has secured another set of third-party commissions, this time from UK commercial broadcaster Channel 5.

The Viacom-owned network has ordered Chocolate Dreams: Inside Hotel Chocolat (2×60′), which explores the work of the confectionary company, and factual series The Bermuda Triangle (3×60′), both produced by BBC Studios’ factual department in London.

Both projects will be executive produced by BBC Studios creative director Lisa Ausden and were developed by the company’s Topical & Live Unit, led by Gareth Collett.

The third commission is Top of the Box (4×120′), a four-part series from BBC Studios’ Entertainment North that celebrates the best TV programmes. John Piper is the series producer and Kieron Collins is the executive producer.

BBC Studios unveiled its first third-party commission earlier this year with an order from Discovery Channel for The Red List, which is being produced by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit.
