C4 welcomes Five Guys a Week

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a pilot for a dating show that sees five men living with a girl for a week.

Five Guys a Week is from UK-based Label1 and is being executive produced by Barnaby Coughlin, who previously executive produced C4 shows including First Dates and First Dates Hotel.

The show claims to “transform the first-date experience into the ultimate test of romance, compatibility and stamina” by following one single woman as she lives with five potential partners for a week.

Commissioning editor Gilly Greenslade said: “It’s not uncommon to have multiple online flirtations on the go at any one time thanks to modern dating apps. This format brings that concept into the real world. It’s wit and warmth make it an irresistible proposition.”

Executive producers for Label1 include Simon Dickson, Lorraine Charker-Philips and Coughlin, who joined Label1 as its head of factual entertainment from fellow UK prodco Twenty Twenty earlier this year.
