C4 explores Trump’s World

Channel 4 in the UK has ordered a quick-turnaround documentary about the controversial US president-elect Donald Trump.

The World According to President Trump will be produced by ITN Productions and has been commissioned in response to Trump’s shock election victory over Hillary Clinton this week. It will air in the UK on December 12.

The documentary will examine the likelihood of Trump banning all Muslims from entering the US, building a wall between the US and Mexico, and palling up with Russia premier Vladimir Putin.

It will see journalist Matt Frei, who previously fronted The Mad World of Donald Trump for Channel 4, attempt to get to the bottom of Trump’s policies and future agenda as president.

“We have never seen anything like it before, or possibly ever will again. The controversy surrounding the election has been remarkable and it is a great opportunity to continue the coverage and analysis on Channel 4,” said commissioning editor George Waldrum.

It comes after the television industry reacted with a mixture of shock, elation and anger to Trump’s win.
