C4 exec flows to Two Rivers

Scottish production company Two Rivers Media has hired a Channel 4 executive as its head of popular factual.

Lizzi Wootton

Lizzi Wootton was most recently acting head of features and senior commissioning editor at C4. At Two Rivers, she will focus on formats, features and daytime.

Wootton played a key creative role during her five years at C4. As well as commissioning Escape to the Chateau, she launched major series including Jamie Oliver’s Superfoods, My Family & the Galapagos, What Britain Bought and Penelope Keith’s Hidden Villages.

At Two Rivers, she joins senior creatives Mick McAvoy, head of factual, and Mirella Breda, head of entertainment. Lucy Bacon was recently announced as the firm’s director of unscripted development.

Wootton said: “It’s fantastic to be joining such a stand-out indie at this exciting, formative stage. Two Rivers Media is shaping up to become one of the major players in the market, with a wealth of creative leadership. I can’t wait to join the team and build a formidable factual footprint both in the UK and internationally.”

Two Rivers was launched in January by former STV Productions chief Alan Clements, with backing from C4 and Kew Media.
