C4, D8 run wild with Obama

Grylls and Obama in the forthcoming special

Channel 4 in the UK and D8 in France have picked up a special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls featuring US president Barack Obama.

The special, distributed by Electus International and its producer Bear Grylls Ventures, has also sold to Discovery Networks International (DNI) to air across Europe, except France, with a second-window right in the UK. DNI will also air the show in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

The special will have its world premiere on US broadcast network NBC on December 17 at 22.00 ET.

The Running Wild series airs on NBC and follows survival expert Grylls as he takes Hollywood celebrities such as Channing Tatum and Zac Efron into the wild to test their mental and physical boundaries.
