C21Media Enterprises backs Blonde Mamba

C21’s funding arm, C21Media Enterprise, has underlined its commitment to support new voices in the content business with an investment in LA prodco Blonde Mamba.

Co-founded in 2018 by Amelia Baker and Mackenzie Munro, Blonde Mamba has already made its mark in the LA production scene, focusing on a wide-ranging slate of content for Gen Z and Millennial audiences.

Baker and Munro, who built their reputations with award-winning short films, provide a powerful home for young creative talent in North America and Europe, with a strong focus on projects that reinforce opportunities for women in the media industry.

The slate includes ambitious drama and documentary, as well as embracing growing opportunities to create shortform and branded content with emerging digital platforms.

Projects include female biker drama Dogs Blood, multi-platform scripted series Pink Tax and a feature film from Betsy Franco The Art of Love.

Talent development is key, with The Mamba Collective – a dedicated unit within Blonde Mamba – providing development expertise and a valuable route to market for emerging voices in the US and around the world.

Blonde Mamba will also be working closely with C21Media Enterprises and its creative partners to build a powerful new hub for podcast development and production in Los Angeles, which is scheduled to launch in 2020.
