C21 script competition open for entries

The C21 Drama Series Script Competition, produced in association with Script Angel, has opened for entries, bidding to find the next big thing in international drama.

We’re looking for outstanding pilots for a one-hour drama series from fresh writers who have what it takes to create a primetime drama series.

Winners will receive a US$10,000 option deal, time in a writers’ room on a current series, and assistance in taking their drama project to series, with unprecedented access to the global television drama market.

The script competition is open for entries between June 20 and August 31 this year.
The final round of the script competition will consist of a pitch presentation at the C21 International Drama Summit on November 27.

C21 editor-in-chief and MD David Jenkinson said: “This year’s competition aims to uncover some of the most exciting new writing talent and connect them with the business.

“The top 100 scripts will be exposed to the world’s drama development community and the finalists brought to London to pitch the business. This is a unique opportunity to get your script into the right hands.”

The finalists will all receive pitch consultancy and get the chance to meet the leading channels and platforms at the biggest drama business gathering in the world.

Finalists will each also receive a one-hour meeting with Script Angel during Content London to discuss feedback on their submitted project.

Each finalist will also be eligible to choose to engage with C21’s WritersRoom initiative to develop the project further ahead of Content London. WritersRoom works with emerging talent to prepare projects for market, from script development to drama sector intelligence, project consultancy and pitch preparation.
