Buzzfeed, Keshet get into Touch

Buzzfeed will produce a cross-media version of gameshow Touch

Keshet is partnering with global media firm Buzzfeed to produce a cross-media version of an Israeli gameshow.

Buzzfeed Motion Pictures, the digital video arm of the viral viewing specialist, is teaming up with Keshet Studios, the LA-based studio of Israeli distributor Keshet International.

The two firms will work on a version of gameshow Touch, originally created by Keshet and Ido Rosenblum.

The move is designed to further propel Buzzfeed into the world of linear TV and expand its digital presence with simultaneous launches online and on mobile through its platforms and distribution channels.

The original format rewarded the sharp eyes and quick reactions of contestants and was based around the question ‘What is wrong with this picture?’ It connects with viewers and online users who can play along by touching the screen as the clock counts down.

Sebastian Burkhardt, senior VP of digital and acquisitions at Keshet International, said: “BuzzFeed has been at the forefront of creating culturally defining and buzzworthy original online content. Together, we will create content that engages viewers of all ages and on all platforms as the speed of linear and digital convergence accelerates.”
