Bulb TV lights up UK

London-based media technology and content distribution firm Vision247 is launching its Canadian channel Bulb TV in the UK on Freeview.

Bulb TV focuses on consumer technology through live interactive shows, live specials based around product launches and features on science, gaming and innovation.

Its shows include This Week in Google, Macbreak Weekly, Windows Weekly, Security Now, Android App Arena and IOS Today.

The channel, which broadcasts more than 35 hours of fresh technology content each week, will be available through the VisionTV portal on Freeview.

VisionTV has almost 40 TV channels covering news, entertainment, sports and lifestyle. Exclusive to VisionTV in the UK, Bulb TV will be available via Freeview 264, mobile apps, VisionTV UK, and EETV boxes.

Tanya Vidmar, head of international sales for Vision247, said delivering content through VisionTV, which streams international channels including China’s CCTV to connected Freeview boxes and mobile devices, was a cost-efficient way of bringing niche content to the UK.

While BulbTV currently has no plans to create UK-based content, that could change in the future, the firm said.
