BTF’s new outpost in Santiago will be headed by Caffiero with support from the company’s founders, Francisco Cordero and Ricardo Coeto.

The opening of the new offices is part of BTF’s expansion plans for the region. The company already has bases in Mexico, Argentina and Spain, as well as the US.

Caffiero is the creator of Emmy-winning series Una Historia Necesaria (The Suspended Morning) and recently received two of the country’s largest production incentive awards from the National Television Council of Chile for his short fiction series Voces Anonimas and docuseries Raza Brava.

Caffiero is also known for producing the series Hasta Que Te Conocí and El Secreto de Selena, which both found regional success.

Ivonne Vela, head of communications at BTF, said: “Chile is an increasingly important market within the industry. We are very happy to be able to open a new office in this territory with Hernán, who is one of the most outstanding showrunners in Latin America and who has a vast number of audiovisual projects that will be added to the BTF Media portfolio.”
