Bron Studios appoints creative duo

North American film and TV producer Bron Studios has added to its executive team as it prepares to begin production on shows including the English-language remake of hit French series Call My Agent.

Samantha Thomas has been tapped as executive VP to oversee creative for Bron’s slate of TV productions, from development through post, and will report to television group president David Davoli.

Thomas began her tenure at Bron in 2019 serving as a consultant for its international TV division, supporting Davoli in building out the initial slate of programming.

Previously she served as VP of original programming at Marvel Television, working on its original programming for Netflix.

Emma Fleischer, meanwhile, will work directly on productions as a creative producer, overseeing on-the-ground creative efforts for Bron television, also reporting to Davoli.

Prior to joining Bron in September, Fleischer served as the VP of television at Elevated Films and worked as an executive producer on the series Black Equals Beauty. Fleischer also served as a producer on Marvel series Runaways, Daredevil and Agents of SHIELD.

Fleischer is currently in Ireland on the set of Kin, a multi-part crime drama starring Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne and Aidan Gillen that is filming now.

Bron will also soon begin production in London on the Call My Agent remake with Headline Pictures.

UK-based Turbine Studios, the prodco behind Steve McQueen’s BBC and Amazon anthology series Small Axe in which Bron recently invested, has come on board the remake as producer.

Founded in 2010 by Aaron L Gilbert and Brenda Gilbert, Bron Studios is headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in LA, New York and Toronto.

In addition to Kin and Call My Agent, and the recently completed series The Defeated (aka Shadowplay), starring Taylor Kitsch and Michael C Hall, Bron is also working with Italy’s Palomar on the spaghetti western That Dirty Black Bag.
