Bron, Headline adapting French comedy

French comedy Dix Pour Cent airs on France 3

MIPCOM: Canada’s Bron Studios and Headline Pictures in the UK have picked up the English-language remake rights to French comedy series Dix Pour Cent! (aka Call My Agent!).

Bafta winner John Morton (Twenty Twelve, W1A) is onboard to write, direct and executive produce the adaptation, which will be a coproduction between the two companies.

Originally created by Fanny Herrero, the French original takes place at a Parisian talent agency where agents scramble to keep their star clients happy and their business afloat after the sudden death of their founder.

In its fourth season on public broadcaster France 2, the award-winning television series is one of the most popular in France as well as having an international following on Netflix.

Morton will set the adaptation in a London talent agency. The series will draw on well-known talent from the US and UK for cameos. Bron and Headline have set a June 2020 start date for production, which will take place in and around London.

Executive producers are Aaron L Gilbert, David Davoli and Steven Thibault for Bron and Christian Baute for Headline. The show’s original producers – Aurélien Larger and Harold Valentin of Mother Productions; and Dominique Besnehard and Michel Feller of Mon Voisin Productions –are also exec producers.

The remake rights were acquired on the eve of Mipcom from Mon Voisin Productions and Mother Productions via a deal with TF1 Studio and France TV Distribution.
