Britespark, Beyond make more Mistakes

Massive Engineering Mistakes examines the science behind building blunders

Argonon-owned UK prodco Britespark and London-based distributor Beyond Rights are moving ahead with the coproduction of seasons three and four of factual series Massive Engineering Mistakes.

Beyond has funded the 20×60’ episodes through pre-sales, including one with a yet-to-be-announced US broadcaster.

The series follows a team of experts who investigate the science behind building blunders and construction catastrophes, exploring why they happened and how they were fixed.

The deal was brokered by Simona Argenti, head of sales of Beyond Rights. Nick Godwin and Tom Gorham executive produce for BriteSpark Films.

The show was born out of an original commissioning strategy by Paul Heaney’s distributor TCB Media Rights and previous seasons were picked up by broadcasters including Nat Geo in the US.

TCB was acquired by Beyond International and merged with Beyond Distribution to create Beyond Rights earlier this year.

This is the latest series to be produced by BriteSpark Films, following the recent orders for World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (6×60’) for Channel 5 and Mississippi (3×75’) for Channel 5, with further projects in development.
