Toronto-based BGM, which is part of Kew Media Group and produces unscripted series such as Hockey Wives, will work with Montreal-based Attraction to develop English-language scripted content for the global market.

The partnership will draw on Attraction’s network of writers and directors and three projects featuring female writers, creators and characters are already in active development. A production announcement will follow in the coming months, the firms said.

“With a hotbed of talent in Quebec, Attraction Images is at the forefront of creating and producing the best-in-class dramatic series and feature films,” said Julie Bristow, president and CEO of BGM. “This partnership allows us to accelerate our growth by expanding into scripted content.”

Attraction Images has produced more than 5,500 hours of television content and is behind series such as Fatale-Station for Arte France and Radio-Canada, Les Parents and Au secours de Béatrice.

The agreement follows Attraction Media’s recent acquisition of CMJ Productions and BGM becoming part of Kew Media Group.
