Bravo picks up Hulu’s Handmaid

A broadcaster in Canada has acquired the exclusive rights to Hulu’s forthcoming adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s classic novel The Handmaid’s Tale.

Elisabeth Moss stars in The Handmaid’s Tale

Bell Media-owned network Bravo will begin airing the series, which stars Elisabeth Moss (Top of the Lake, Mad Men) as a young woman in a futuristic society where women are forced into surrogate motherhood, on April 30.

Once all 10×60′ episodes have aired on Bravo, the series will be streamed exclusively in Canada on Bell Media’s SVoD service CraveTV, following a deal with distributor MGM Television.

Filmed in Toronto and produced by MGM Television, The Handmaid’s Tale is created, executive produced and written by Bruce Miller and executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears and Ilene Chaiken.
