Boat Rocker puts its name to Untitled

Canada’s Boat Rocker Entertainment has expanded its portfolio of businesses with an investment in talent management and production company Untitled Entertainment.

Founded in 1999 by Jason Weinberg and Stephanie Simon, with offices in Los Angeles, New York and London, Untitled represents talent including Gillian Anderson, Elizabeth Banks, Connie Britton, Chris Cooper, Penelope Cruz, Alan Cumming, Laura Dern, Matt Dillon, Minnie Driver and Jane Fonda.

The investment will enable the company to expand all areas of its business including TV, film and digital production under its current leadership team.

In a statement, Boat Rocker said the investment provides Untitled with financial resources for new hires and development funding with a view to enhancing the company’s production and digital capabilities. The deal also gives it access to Boat Rocker’s full-service global studio infrastructure.

Boat Rocker co-founders and co-executive chairmen Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier said: “Untitled Entertainment sits amongst a very small group of world-class talent management companies. With an unrivalled roster of clients, a terrific team of managers and a thoughtful talent-first approach, Untitled has emerged into a highly respected management powerhouse.”

This investment marks a continuation of Boat Rocker’s expansion into the New York and LA markets, building on its recent acquisition of production company Matador Content (Lip Sync Battle).

Other recent deals for Boat Rocker include its acquisition of FremantleMedia’s Kids & Family business.
