Blue Ant’s Antenna picks up Renegade exec

Blue Ant Media-owned UK prodco Antenna Pictures has appointed an executive from production outfit Renegade as its creative director.

Jonathan Levi

Jonathan Levi takes up the role with a remit to build its development and production slate and broaden the company’s offering to include more entertainment and factual entertainment programming.

He will be based in London and work with Jago Lee, MD of Antenna Pictures.

Levi joins from Warner Bros-backed factual label Renegade and has credits on shows including forthcoming factual drama Hatton Garden and renovation show Transformation Street for ITV in the UK. He has also worked on Broadmoor for the broadcaster and Ewan McGreggor: Cold Chain Mission for BBC2.

Lee said: “We want to build a presence in the UK market where smart storytelling and thoughtful formats are in vogue in a big way. Jonathan’s mischievous, journalistic sensibility and past success launching new shows makes him the perfect creative to lead this charge.”

Antenna Pictures was founded in 2016 and has focused its output on younger-skewing networks, with recent productions including The Sidemen Show for YouTube Premium, which was coproduced with Blue Ant Digital Studios. It has also been behind Orangutan Jungle School for Channel 4, coproduced with Blue Ant’s NHNZ, and Is Love Racist? for Channel 4.

Last year the producer appointed Oliver Good and Isabelle Pavitt to bolster its senior management ranks.
