The changes will see Schouela lead the outfit’s streaming and linear television networks and digital platforms around the world, as well as existing print products and consumer events.

Schouela has been president of Canadian media at the international content producer, distributor and channel operator since 2017, heading up the company’s Canadian television, media and consumer events businesses.

He was previously the company’s executive VP of Canadian networks and, before that, exec VP of marketing and communications. He joined Blue Ant Media in 2013 from Shaw Media, where he served as VP, marketing.

Formerly executive VP, programming and development at Love Nature, Staudt will now head the family-friendly wildlife brand’s strategic direction and operations globally. This includes commissioning and development, programming, digital content, marketing and communications, as well as international affiliate sales.

Love Nature, a joint venture between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks, reaches 200 million homes around the world via its branded linear and streaming platforms and through partnerships with pay TV platforms and streamers.

Staudt will report to Schouela and joins Blue Ant Media’s corporate management team. Schouela will continue to report to Michael MacMillan, CEO and co-founder of Blue Ant Media.

Prior to joining Blue Ant Media, Staudt held numerous leadership roles at National Geographic, including senior VP, global programming and MD for National Geographic Channels International’s operations in Washington DC.

“These promotions ladder up to Blue Ant Media’s commitment to streamlining its core priorities, which include content production, ownership and exploitation in all its forms,” said MacMillan.
