Blue Ant packs 250 hours for Mipcom

Spring Films’ doc Prison aired on Channel 4 in the UK

The sales arm of Canada’s Blue Ant Media is taking more than 250 hours of new programming to Mipcom, including factual, drama and children’s programming.

Blue Ant’s documentaries include Prison (3×60’) from UK-based Spring Films originally aired on Channel 4 and gives audiences a glimpse of life behind bars.

Cold Valley (4×60’/2×120’), produced by Canuck prodcos Saloon Media and Pixcom International, documents a detective’s attempts to solve a case that involved the disappearance of five youths during the 1970s.

Also on the factual slate is How to Defuse a Bomb (1×90’) from Northern Irish prodco Alleycats and Blue (1×60’ & 1×90’) from Australian outfit Northern Pictures, which explores the problem of plastic in our seas.

When I Grow Up! (26×11’/13×30′) from US-based Riverbank Pictures leads the children’s slate and explores different careers, while the factual entertainment slate is led by Great Escapes with Colin & Justin (8×30’) from US prodco Architect Films.

It follows two designers who explore the North American wilderness to discover what lengths people will go to in order to create their perfect city escape.

Blue Ant’s scripted and digital slate includes adventure reality series Sidemen (7×30’), produced by Blue Ant Digital Studios and London’s Antenna Pictures, and Deep Space 69 (8×11’) from Six Point Harness, which follows the adventures of a space bus driver and his first mate, a koala named Hamilton.
