Bing bounces around globe

Bing is produced by Acamar Films and Brown Bag Films

Italy’s Rai YoYo and Fox Kids in Finland are among the children’s channels across Europe and Asia to have picked up preschool animation series Bing.

RSI Switzerland, Česká Televize, CJ Korea English Gem Channel in South Korea and Karousel’s new preschool channel O! in Russia have also all acquired the show.

In addition, ABC in Australia and SVT in Sweden have renewed their licences for the first 78 episodes.

Adapted from the books of the same name by US author and illustrator Ted Dewan, the show celebrates the realities and adventures experienced by preschool children via a bunny named Bing.

It is produced by UK independent studio Acamar Films, which has taken over distribution from the sales arm of UK prodco Aardman Animations, and its Dublin-based partner Brown Bag Films.

SVoD deals have also been secured with Netherlands-based digital services Just 4 Kids and Videoland. SF Studios has also picked up SVoD and home entertainment rights for the Nordics.

Bing debuted in 2014 and already airs on broadcasters such as CBeebies in the UK, Gulli and Tiji in France and Hop in Israel.
