Bi dating series to be E! UK’s first original

NBCUniversal International Networks-owned channel E! Entertainment in the UK has ordered a bisexual dating series fronted by Celebrity Big Brother winner Shane Jenek, aka Courtney Act.

E! Entertainment’s The Bi Life follows a group of singletons living in Barcelona

The Bi Life is the first original commission by the channel and is being produced by NBCUniversal International Studios’ UK prodco Monkey. Ros Coward is executive producing.

The 10-part series follows a group of bisexual, pansexual and fluid or questioning singles who go to Barcelona where they live together and discuss their mission to find love.

Monkey is also behind UK reality series such as Made in Chelsea and The Real Housewives of Cheshire. The Bi Life will premiere on E! in October.

In related news, E! in the US has appointed Sara Auspitz as senior VP of current programming, overseeing all unscripted series for the US cablenrt.

Auspitz was previously head of current for rival cablenet GSN and joins Amy Introcaso-Davis, who moved from GSN to become head of development and production at E! in September last year.
