Beta Film, Wildside set on German Moon

MIPCOM: Germany’s Beta Film and sister prodco Zeitsprung have joined forces with Fremantle-owned Italian prodco Wildside on a new drama about one of Nasa’s earliest moon missions.

German Moon centres on former Nazi scientists involved in Nasa’s moon missions

German Moon also brings together Israeli writing and creating trio Nadav Schirman (Gaddafi), Ron Leshem (Prisoners of War) and Amit Cohen (False Flag), marking their first such collaboration.

Inspired by true events, the story follows former Nazi scientists involved in Nasa’s first manned mission to the moon, who were originally recruited to build ballistic missiles for the US army under the supervision of the CIA. The series is currently in development and will begin shooting some time in 2019/20.

Beta Film and Wildside are pre-existing partners on political thriller series 1992, 1993 and now 1994, the latter being unveiled at Mipcom.

Zeitsprung Pictures, run by founder and CEO Michael Souvignier, is behind productions such as Side Effects, Adidas vs Puma and Mack the Knife – Brecht’s Threepenny Film, all being represented by Beta at Mipcom.
