Qatar’s BeIn Media has partnered with German children’s producer and distributor Studio 100 Media to launch a channel in the Middle East and North Africa.

Aimed at a children and family audience, beJunior launches on April 1 exclusively to BeIn Media’s pay TV subscribers in the region.

Munich-based Studio 100 Media will create, supply and schedule the co- branded channel, which is based on the company’s Junior pay TV net in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Studio 100’s library contains a number of classic as well as modern CGI-animated series such as Maya the Bee, Vic the Viking and Heidi.

Forthcoming CGI series set to air on the channel include The Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill, Nils Holgersson and Arthur & the Minimoys, which Studio 100 Media will be presenting at MipTV.

Patrick Elmendorff, CEO of Studio 100 Media, said: “The new channel will be based on the established concept of Junior but always with special regard to the viewing habits and requirements of the audience of MENA region.
