BeIN Sports launches archival VoD

Content includes a documentary on Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah

Middle Eastern pay TV provider beIN Sports has launched an archive service as part of its beIN On-Demand offering, as sportscasters the world over look to fill the holes left by the lack of live action.

The new service will feature a selection of classic matches, documentaries, behind-the-scenes features and official FIFA World Cup films, as well as archive matches from the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League football tournaments.

Football matches on show include the 2018 FIFA World Cup final between France and Croatia and the 2017 and 2018 ‘El Clasico’ clashes between Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The service will also offer original beIN documentaries on the rise to fame of football stars Mohamed Salah, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Baghdad Bounedjah and tennis champions Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic.

The new feature will be available at no extra cost to beIN subscribers.

Jonathan Whitehead, head of sports at beIN Sports MENA, said: “BeIN has made a proud commitment to offer the best programming ever scheduled during this holy month of Ramadan, and this includes our sports programming and services too.

“We’re therefore delighted to launch our new on-demand sports service so that fans across MENA can watch and share some of the greatest matches ever played at a time that suits the whole family, as well as learning more about sporting legends such as Mohamed Salah in special beIN documentaries.”
