BBCWW’s Earth goes to Turkey, Romania

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has launched its fledgling BBC Earth channel in Romania and Turkey after forging local carriage deals.

The brand will launch as a linear channel in Romania on Telekom, RCS/RDS DIGI and Digital Cable Systems, while TTNet and IPTV service Tivibu will offer the channel in Turkey.

BBC Earth, which is replacing BBC Knowledge in the two countries, will be available in local languages and is part of BBCWW’s roll-out of its three genre brands – BBC Brit, BBC Earth and BBC First – around the world.

The channel focuses on factual programming, with shows including Life Below Zero, Life Story, Human Universe and Operation Wild.
