BBCWW names Lat Am sales chief

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has promoted an executive to oversee all sales and digital operations for the UK pubcaster’s commercial arm in Latin America.

David Hanono becomes general manager of sales and digital for Latin America and the Hispanic market in the US, based in Miami and taking up the new role immediately.

His remit includes responsibility for all sales across BBCWW’s Lat Am and US Hispanic operations including digital, TV and formats, as well as working across advertising sales in the region.

Hanono was previously VP of digital business development for BBCWW and led the launch of BBCWW’s first children’s app, CBeebies, which debuted in the US and Lat Am markets last year.

Before joining BBCWW, Hanono worked at Univision, Lucent Technologies and NEC, among other companies.

Anna Gordon, exec VP and MD of BBCWW Lat Am and US Hispanic, said Hanono’s experience and expertise in the sector would help to “drive new business opportunities,” while Hanono added that he would “build new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.”

Gordon replaced BBCWW’s former Lat Am chief Fred Medina last year and oversees all of the company’s businesses in Latin America, as well as US Hispanic.
