BBCWW names CEE general manager

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has appointed a new general manager and VP for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Salim Mukaddam will have responsibility for content sales, formats and channels for the BBC’s commercial arm across CEE.

Mukaddam, formerly director of music in the content division at BBCWW, will also play a role in the Central Europe, Middle East and Africa management team for the broadcaster.

The position was previously held by Nick Percy, who had his responsibilities shifted amid a major reshuffle in BBCWW’s sales team in Europe earlier this year. Former ITV Studios Global Entertainment exec Tobi de Graaff also had his remit widened.

Having trained and qualified as an intellectual property lawyer at city firm Nabarro, Mukaddam joined the internet, interactive and music division of BBCWW in 2005.

He then progressed to take over the international radio sales business, BBC Radio International, in 2007.
