The agreement with Tata Sky, which offers both SVoD and TVoD services, gives subscribers in eight regions of India access to BBCWW drama and comedy programming via a BBC On-Demand branded section on its platform.

Viewers can watch shows via TVs, PCs and movie devices, with programming including crime drama Luther, political thriller The Honourable Woman and Burton & Taylor, about the stormy relationship between stars Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

Viewers will also be able to watch comedies including Yes, Prime Minister, Citizen Khan and Being Erica.

Paolo Agostinelli, chief content officer at Tata Sky, said the deal was “only the start of a very fruitful relationship with BBC,” adding that it would allow it to offer “top branded content and the best viewing experience, including increasingly popular time-shifted and device-shifted binge viewing content.”
